Muscle Testing
What is Applied Kinesiology, also known as muscle testing?
This is a system of healing that evaluates chemical, structural and psychological aspects of an individual’s health using manual muscle testing in combination with other diagnostic criteria to get to the bottom of what is causing the symptoms a person is experiencing. A part of A.K. is the concept of the Triad of Health, which explains that there are three most important aspects that effect a persons health -these include; mental, structural, and chemical. The actual technique works by testing your strong muscles with the addition of tiny vials of differing foods, chemicals, molds, bacteria, parasites, hormones and other potentially triggering substances. If the patient tested displays a muscle weakness with exposure to vial, then you can conclude that they are biochemically sensitive and potentially intolerant to that substance. After testing the weakening vials to the patients constitution, we then test which herbs and supplements strengthen the person against the triggering substance. These herbs and supplements, once taken into the body, kill overgrowth that creates imbalances and debilitating reactions. The herbs and supplements do this with their anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic properties. The substances and herbs strengthen the gut microbiome and enhance immune function by nourishing any deficiencies the body may be experiencing.
Why this is important?
These deficiencies allow for immune function to be lowered and allow for a build up of the pathogen in the body. A lot of these irritants and sensitivities are relatively new to the body or just have not reached the blood level so they often do not show up on a functional blood panel. This often leads to the “it’s all in your head” diagnosis. Applied Kinesiology examines how these overgrowths are causing a disruption to the body before waiting until it appears in a blood panel allergy test. Applied Kinesiology is a very effective preventative measure that works on the biochemical energetics of the body before it reaches a very hard to cure state. An example of this can be seen with the development of Lymes disease. A person can contract a small amount of Lyme-causing bacteria from a bug bite that, if treated efficiently with the proper anti-microbial herbs, can save a person from going down the full Lyme disease spectrum when that same bacteria is left unchallenged and makes it’s way deep into the persons blood system. It becomes much more difficult to treat when it reaches the blood level.
This system of healing is one that I have seen incredible personal success with and have used with many patients who have also seen similar levels of success. Next to lab work, it is the most individualized diagnostic treatment plan I use in my practice. This modality gets to the heart of what is causing your symptoms and is very effective in distinguishing which herbs and supplements will help your body recover the fastest.
Applied Kinesiology is used to restore functional structure by using the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system. Other treatments beyond herbs and supplements include specific joint mobilization, myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian acupuncture skills, reflex procedures and clinical nutrition and dietary management.
